While our X-Factor Meal Plans are not designed to be specifically vegetarian or vegan, we have had many compliments on the ease of adaptation to a vegetarian or vegan focus. Our meal plans do not rely on complicated recipes and instead easily substituted food groups. Vegetarians & vegans have found making the meal plan fit their lifestyle to be very simple.
In fact, with all protein sources being color coded red and identified for every meal, users could easily opt for a meatless or dairy free alternative such as quinoa, tofu, Seitan, lentils or tempeh as a protein substitute! There are many plant based, high protein options you could go with to ensure you are meeting your daily protein needs.
Red = Protein
Maroon / Purple = Starchy Carbohydrate
Orange = Healthy Fats
Green = Fibrous Carbohydrates
The flexibility of the meal plan allows end users to chose and prepare meals that they enjoy. Users can mix and match lean proteins, fibrous veggies and starchy carbs to create there own healthy options. For example, a meal that lists Cajun chicken, with sauteed broccoli and brown rice could easily become Italian seasoning style chicken with sauteed broccoli and brown rice. One could also change out the broccoli and rice for say baked sweet potato and grilled asparagus or in the case of someone who is following a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle, they could swap out the chicken for lentils and enjoy a meal of brown rice topped with lentils and sauteed broccoli. As you can see the options for each meal entry are unlimited and can really suit any palate. It is really all about being creative and making the outline of the meal plan fit your lifestyle.
You also do not have to follow the meal plan strictly day to day. We offer a lot of variety for the sole purpose to ensure that people are not getting bored with eating healthy. So if you find it more convenient, you can pick and choose 1, 2 or 3 select breakfasts, lunches or dinners from the meal plan or opt for your own healthy alternatives and cycle through them day to day. It'll really make the shopping easier and it can even cut down the costs quite a bit.
